Signing with MG Music Record Label

I'm excited to announce that Awakening has been signed to the MG Music record label and will be retitled Arising. The head of the label felt that it would be a better title so we went with it. It's also going to have brand new artwork.

The album wil be released in September approximately.

Marc's music inspires another piece of poetry

Marc's new CD has nudged some poetry from my sometimes obstinate pen... 'Before the Dawn' inspired me to finish a piece I'd put aside some time ago which by sheer coincidence contained the track's title.. i do hope you enjoy!

Borrowed Ink

Moon pens restless verse
Borrows ink of midnight sky
Spilled before the dawn
Sonnets scribbled upon stars
Slips into summer's morning

And moon lays its quill against horizon's thoughts...boundless, unbridled and unbelievably pure. Words splash, dripping onto nature's canvas... flowing between day and night... and back again. Coloring clouds with rhyme. Framing sun in spirited prose as it rises... higher, higher. Moon sighs, tucking away a word or two, and inks its farewell... marking his place in this ongoing journal of time.

I discovered Marc's music when I saw a post on Yanni's message boards. I listened and immediately became a fan who wanted more. I teach children with life threatening illnesses and children awaiting transplants. Music is a big part of who I am . I live in New Jersey and I travel all over for music concerts. I enjoy the music of Tim Janis whose concert I will be going to in York, Maine in August. Marc's music and Tim's both give me a feeling of peace, calm, and inner strength. You can tell I am huge fan of music because I am one of the people who still uses rabbit ears for TV, but I have an amazing sound system. I would rather read and listen to music, than watch TV. Music is always on in my home. It provides a safe for haven me. I believe the music I listen to is a reflection of who I am and turns my house into a home. I am also a fan of realmusic. com. Terrance Yallop writes in each CD cover an amazing quote "Within each of us is a loving, magical powerful being... a Real Self. Music, friend that it is cocoons from our worries, enabling that hidden self to emerge." I look foward to meeting others in this community.

Marc, I just received the copy of Awakening that I won, and have been listening ever since the mailman left. I am DELIGHTED!!! I was expecting to be enthralled but what I'm hearing is way beyond my expectations! I just want to say to anybody who is on the fence about ordering this one - DON'T HESITATE! It is AMAZING!!!

So I read on the "About" page that you had a successful career in software... dare I ask with which company? I'm with a technology and software "biggie" as you know and wonder if you worked for the same... or one of the companies we've "sucked up" over the years. I'm not a complete "geek" but I do have a slightly technical background... I only dabble in that today. Made a big transition to focus in on leadership development now... someone thought I was a good leader and told me to go make others be the same (ha!)... but teaching adults has it challenges... we think we know it all by the time we've "arrived" in adulthood. Eventually, most of us figure out we always have a lot to learn :-).

Contacting music departments at local schools?

Would it be useful to approach music directors at local schools and share Marc's website with them? I've shared info about Tim Janis and what he does with schools and they were interested in hearing more opportunities to learn from and interact with professional writers/musicians. If there is something you, Marc, are interested in doing with school music programs, perhaps it would be a good way to get a younger generation to appreciate your music and the opportunities it can provide. I think back to my freshman year of college (OK so it was 1984... don't laugh too loud) and music being played on a yes, boom box, by a grad student was wafting down the hall in our dorm. I was so taken by the music that I had to ask.... turned out to be George Winston (December)... I've since bought everything he's done and seen him twice live. Now, how many 18 year olds would be jazzed by George Winston? Don't know until you expose them to the music... so I say, let them have a listen to your stuff and see who catches on!

Rules:
